We are incredibly proud of听Tanna听(Dorot听Carmel, 2020) whose artwork was selected for inclusion in this year鈥檚 Pulse Perspectives exhibition at the听. Inspired by local artist Donna Franklin, her unique piece, made entirely of dehydrated fruits, is a comment on the environmental impact of the fashion industry and food wastage. 鈥淚 carefully sliced the fruit, aiming for consistency to ensure the patterns were more pronounced. It was important to me that the dress I designed would be avant-garde yet fashionable while remaining beautiful,鈥澨Tanna听said of her piece.

Our Art teacher, Morah Leanne, supported听Tanna听through the project and is so pleased that听Tanna听is getting the public recognition she deserves. 鈥Tanna听spent hours chopping and dehydrating the fruit, then carefully arranging them in an aesthetic design. I really enjoyed supervising her work on this project and her love of fashion, plus her beautiful and gentle nature, really shines through in her piece.鈥
This is the fourth Year 12 Artwork we have had selected for the Pulse Perspectives exhibition in the past 9 years.

Considering the large number of applicants each year, we are very proud of our student achievements in the VAR area. The Pulse Perspectives exhibition runs from May 5 through to the end of August. Make sure you visit!
